Seven Nations And Seven Archon ( Genshin Impact)

Genshin Impact is a role playing game developed by miHoyo. The game takes palace in the magical land of Tyvat where exists seven nations, each different from others, ruled by their Archons.

In this vast world players, as traveler, journeys across the seven nation in search for our lost sibling. Because the traveler and  his/her sibling came to Tyvat from distance star and separated by an unknown god of Tyvat.

Along our journey we are accompanied by Paimon, our travel guide and friend.

1. Mondstadt - The Nation of Freedom:

 

 The nation's culture and architecture are depicted after Germany.  

Mondstadt has no ruler and the citizens are free to live their lives as they want like the free winds. Therefore, it's called the land of freedom. Mondstadt is also known for its great taste in music and wine. Under the blessing of the Anemo Archon Barbatos, the climate of the nation is gentle that allows agriculture to flourish

Speaking of the anemo archon, he has the authority over the element of wind in Tyvat.

Anemo Archon Barbatos: In the game, he goes by the name Venti. Though he is the archon, he gave freedom to the people of Mondstadt. In the past, the nation was ruled by a tyrant who had control over the storm and locked the nation with a storm barrier. At that time Venti was just a wind spirit and curious about humans. He met a young bard who yearned to see the outside world and to be free as the wind. With the aid of Barbatos he, along with others rebelled against the tyrant and ended the tyranny. Freedom came to the people with the cost of many lives, among them also was the young bard. After Barbatos took the archon position, to honor his friend's (young bard) wish to see the world, Barbatos took his(young bard) form and lived the life of a bard, also made the Mondstadt without a ruler. 

2. Liyue - Nation of Contracts:

Liyue is a vast land that is protected by the mountains on three sides and sea at the other side. the nation's culture, way of life is identical to China in real world. In game Liyue is known for as the trade center of Tyvat and also for having vast mines of mineral, ore and gold. As being trading hub, for Liyue and its people upholding and abiding by contract is top priority. Thus, Liyue is called the nation of contracts and its archon  the Geo Archon Rex Lapiz is called the god of contracts.

Geo Archon Rex Lapiz : 

The geo archon Rex Lapiz is one of the oldest archon other than Venti. He posses the authority over the element of earth. At the beginning of his archon-hood he signed a contract with his people to protect Liyue. During this time he met countless friends also fought countless wars. Once war between gods broke out,  many of his friends and ally died, only he and few where left.

 Many centuries went his power eroded and signed a final contract to end all contracts. Now he lives among he people as Zhongli only few who knows his true identity. For him it can be said that he has met countless people and shall meet countless more like a mountain that bare witness the change of time.

3. Inazuma - Land of Eternity :

Land that is ruled by the Electro Archon, the Raiden Shogun, is known as a nation that pursues eternity. The land Inazuma is depicted after Japan, as it too made of islands. The nation itself is known for its festivals, the scenery of the sakura tree, skilled sword-makers and swordsmanship, and its ruler the Electro Archon, the Raiden Shogun. In this land, all yokai (human-like non-human creatures) and humans coexist with each other. As the nation adapts itself to pursue eternity. Therefore, the land is called the land of eternity. 

Electro Archon Raiden Shogun: 

When lighting strikes in the western lands of Inazuma the people see it as a blessing, as a sign that the trust they hold still stands eternal. The lightings glow that lead Inazuma from darkness. No matter what kind of threat the land faces, people will place their faith in the eternal Raiden Shogun. The people have known only one archon but few knew there were two Makoto and Ei. While Makato handled the politics, Ei was her shadow which was her sword. But 500 years ago, something happened in Kanri'a (the 8th nation destroyed by the Heavenly Principle) that can't be unnoticed. In the catastrophe, Makoto gave her life so that the disaster won't reach Inazuma. Seeing this Ei became the archon and placed her theory of eternity as an unchanging nation. Though her decision brought suffering to her people, Ei prioritized the survival of the nation. She never wanted the same fate of Kanri'a befall on Inazuma.  

4. Sumeru - Land of Wisdom :

Sumeru mainly represents the South Asian, Arabian And Egyptian culture, scenery and climate.  

Under the guidance of the Dendro Archon, the nation of Sumeru holds the power of knowledge.

Sharing and enhancing knowledge and the thirst for knowing the unknown is the maincharacteristics of its people.  Sumeru has one of the best institution name the Academia that does research and preserves knowledge. 

Sumeru adopted the desert land 500 years ago after their king, kind Desret, sacrificed himself to protect his people from forbidden knowledge. This knowledge not only driven people mad but also caused a disease name Eleazar.

The previous dendro archon Greater Lord Rukkhadevata also aided the king exhausting her whole power in the prosses.

Semeru is also the home of Irmisul which hold all knowledge and memories of Tyvat. Altering the memory of Irmisul can directly effect Tyvat. Also The dendro archon is said to be the avatar of Irmisul.
 

Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali:

Lesser Lord Kusanali, also known as Nahida, is the successor of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. As 

Rukkhadevata and Irmisul was infected by the forbidden knowledge, she made Nahida with the purest branch of Irmisul. Though created by the previous archon, the sages of Sumeru didn't acknowledge her. They imprisoned her and tried to replace her. Until the traveler came to Sumeru and freed her. 

Being free, she tried find answers of her existence. She found her answers in the Irminsul conveyed by Greater Lord Rukkhadevata's last  consciousness. 

Nahida was told to erase all memories Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, who she admires the most, to fully erase forbidden knowledge.

This scene was truly saddest part to many Genshin players.

5. Fontaine - Natinon of Justice :

Fontaine, reflecting the culture of France, is ruled by the the Hydro Archon Focalors. This nation resonates with the element of water and depends on it. Fontaine is highly advanced in technology in compare to the other nations..  

As the nation of justice, it conducts a trial before making any judgment. The Opera Epiclese, known as the Opera House is the court of Fontaine. The people treat a trial as a novel or a performance. To them, the line between a performance and a trail is blurred. 

The judgment of the trial is carried out by Iudex Neuvillette. To remove all errors a judgment machine made by the archon gives the last verdict. Its called Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale.

But this nation is prophesied to drown and its people to dissolve in water only the hydro archon will remain weeping on her throne.

 

Hydro Archon Focalors :

Hydro Archon Focalors has the authority over the element of water.
Focalors is known as Lady Furina to her people. She succeeded the divine throne from the former hydro archon Egeria along the prophecy or fate written by the Heavenly Principles.
To deceive the Heavenly Principles and to save the people of Fontaine, she divided herself into two. The first one is the divine part, Focalors and the second is the human part, Farina.
To deceive the Heavenly Principles one first deceive oneself, Focalors did the same to Furina by never telling the full plan.
From making the heir of the ancient dragon sovereign the Iudex to telling the Furina to act as the hydro archon just to sacrifice herself in the end and to take down the divine throne.
Thus, letting the prophecy work while saving everyone from it.

Its is surely a great performance that the court of Fontaine to ever witness.

6. Natlan - Nation of Resurrection :

 

miHoyo has only been released till Fontaine in version 4.3. In future updates, we are expected to unlock the nation of Nathan. As far we know this nation resonates with the element of fire or as the game describes Pyro Nation. The ruler of This nation is the Pyro Archon, Murata.

From Iudex Neuvillette we get to know that this nation is also known as the nation of wars and dragons.

The land expected to have high volcanic activities and have hot springs across the region. 

Pyro Archon Murata: Murata is the pyro archon and has authority on the element of fire. We didn't get any information other than this. 

 

 7.Snezhnaya - Land of Ever Winter :

Snezhnaya is the last nation travelers will visit. It is a land with perpetual winter storms. This nation is ruled by Cryo Archon, the Tsaritsa.

After Natlan, Snezhnaya will be released. That is why we still do not know any specific details about the nation. 

Cryo Archon, the Tsaritsa: The Tsaritsa has authority over the element of ice and frost, in the game known as the cryo element.

From the genshin fandom website, it is said that, "She is the archon who has no love for her people, nor do her people have for her. Her followers only hope to be on her side when she calls the rebellion against the Heavenly Principle.

With the completion of Snezhnaya, Traveler expected to complete his adventurous journey and reach the finale.
