How fitness changed my life
I was always a skinny, unconfident and a socially isolated person. Throughout my entire school life, I had no friends and I was not interactive at all. I always felt very scared of everything. When the bell rang I used to rush to my home. Even I was so afraid of teachers. I thought I have to live my entire life like this. I was depressed, frustrated with my life. I used to play video games all day long. Through my window, at the evening I used to watch kids playing football and cricket on the streets. I always thought to join into the game, but due to lack of confidence and social anxiety I couldn’t do it at all. My classmates always used to bully me, but I couldn’t do anything about that, I didn’t complain to the teachers not even to my parents. Another thing I used to do at home is watching wrestling matches. I was so obsessed with their masculine bodies. I often thought, how can I achieve that kind of physique, there must be a way. If they can do it, why I can’t. So I started watching some YouTube videos about home workout. There was a pretty heavy chair in my room, which was approximately around 1.9 kg. I started doing bicep curls with that. One day my father saw that, and said ”Son, I see you are trying to change yourself. Big changes happen with small steps. That is the first step. I am going to buy you a pair of dumbbells and some gym equipment’s so that you can start doing home workouts more effectively”. This statement by my dad made me very happy and excited. I felt, this is the beginning of something great.
This was me before of my fitness journey.
So I started working out at home. I starting gaining some muscles, strength and some weight. But after few months my body collapsed due to lack of nutrition and proper diet, I was admitted to the hospital for few days. I consulted with a nutritionist about my current situation, she gave me a solid diet plan. I followed her instructions very strictly. Then after few weeks, I started working again. Within 3 months of working out at home, I started to see the overall changes within myself. I started to become more confident than ever, I was interacting with people, my social anxiety was getting off from me. My mental health was also very good.
This was me after 1.5 years of home workout. Massive change in my weight, self-confidence and on my mental health.
I realized how fitness is important in our lives. There is a direct relationship between fitness and mental health. It is essential for every human being to take care of their fitness, no matter how busy they are. The people who exercises regularly have better emotional control, better mental health and lower rates of mental illness. It is very essential to do regular physical exercises, and by doing physical exercises it releases a hormone called serotonin, which helps to reduce stress and anxiety. Self-esteem improves drastically, those who cares about their fitness. Sometimes negative thoughts occupy our mind, it is very common, it can be easily being solved by taking some time to do some sort of physical activities. According to an article written by an anonymous writer those who can do more than 40 push-ups have 96 percent lower chance of getting cardio vascular diseases. Even taking at least taking about 15-30 min’s a day to perform some sort of physical exercises will have a long term effect. It reduces the risk of getting heart, muscle and bone related diseases. Another major thing about being aware about our fitness is it improves our brain functioning to whole new another level. I would say everyone’s number priority should be their fitness, no matter how much busy they are.
Now I have been working out for past 3 years and I lift heavy weights on a regular basis. I am very confident, socially interactive and a very strong person. These all things have been possible because of the Almighty God, my mom, my father and my sister. They helped throughout my dark times. I will be forever grateful for that.
Now I look like this, I weigh around 74 kg. When I first started working out I was only 56 kg. Now I inspire others to join their own fitness journey. I try my best to educate people about how important it is to maintain our own fitness. I will continue my fitness journey until I die, and I will keep educating and inspiring people. It is my dream to have my very own gym and start a fitness brand. Hope someday In Sha Allah, I will be successful and reach my highest potential in the fitness world.
